Introduction

Many intermediate lifters assume that adding more sets automatically leads to more muscle growth. While training volume is important, recovery, intensity, exercise selection, and progression often matter just as much.

Why More Volume Isn’t Always Better

After a certain point, additional volume can create fatigue that outweighs its benefits. Many lifters spend hours in the gym without seeing proportional results.

Focus on Quality

Instead of adding endless sets, focus on progressive overload, proper execution, and recovery. Better training quality often produces better results than simply doing more work.
